Classic games compiled to play on a mainstream system? Kind of an oxymoron if you ask me, but great news for those of us who actually grew up playing the 1980's classics! No my friends, gaming did not begin with the Sony Playstation or the NES for that matter! ;D For $19.99 you get 60 classic Intellivision games on one disc. IL is brought to you by Crave and will also be available for PS2 (no GC version at the moment). It will be interesting to see how well the games turn out...not so much from the technical standpoint, but more based on the fact that Intellivsion controllers featured telephone style keypads which were used as extra control buttons on some games. How they plan on mapping all this functionality to a standard XBOX controller is still a question.

thats right and they dident begin with the intellvision either, they began with the atari 2600 It goes back even further than that! Before the 2600, there was the Magnavox Oddyssey, Bally Professional Arcade, all those home Pong units, and more! Many people think that the 2600 was the first home system that utilized programmable interchangeable cartridges, but that's simply not true...home video gaming was very much alive in the mid-1970's. The 2600 debuted in 1977 (believe it or not!), but really didn't begin to gain in popularity until the very early 1980's when Atari began to release home translations of then-current coin op hits like Pac-Man, Defender, Asteroids and Space Invaders! Which year did you get your Atari 2600 console? For me, it was Christmas 1982, believe it or not! I was in first grade and all I wanted for Christmas was a version of Pac-Man to play at home! My wish came true, but little did I know that the Atari 2600 technology was already 5 years old! Very few systems today have that kind of lifespan!
