Did Shenmue II live up to your expectations?

Seriosuly, i think its great, when i first played it on dreamcast i was amazed, though the japanese voices were disapointing but then the xbox one fixed that

shenemue 2 went beyond my expectations

I must be the only one on this board that was a little disappointed with certain parts of it.

But amazed by most of it, i.e such cool locations and characters. I loved learning the iron palm move from that master under the red tree as the leaves fall. Makes you believe in videogames all over again *sniff*

Too many QTE moments though for my liking....

well i was disapointed that the crate job totally sucked and that certain things that you could do in shenmue I were removed from shenmue II. also the weather is very boring in Shenmue II, it just stays sunny all the time while it was always changing in Shenmue I.

I didn' t really have expectations but it was much better and funner than SI, so I guess I can say it did.

Well after i beat Shenmue 1 for the first time i wasnt at any forums and wasnt sure if there would be a second game, but it was great and im sure it would of.

But now that Pat has mentioned the weather he is right, I never noticed that before.

Also I thought the music was great.

Yea the music was decent in shenmue 2 but if you heard a piece of music from the game many people probably couldn't remember where in the game they heard it unlike the first game.

^^ GET OFF THESE FORUMS NOW lol but seriously I loved Shenmue II when I first played it, it was just many of the moment weren't as enjoyable upon replaying the game such as climbing the yellowhead building etc. the only moment like that in SI was sneaking into warehouse 8-still great game and the only major fault was that it ended with no sequel in sight

yes it was an amazing game but i wish it was in english it would of been much better

Well I thought it was great. But some of the missions took way too long like the Yellow Head building and also when you are trying to find your way thru the woods and had to walk for long periods and ask questions or did those quick button taps for others. I felt that was really dragging it down.

Also the weather as some others said was not as good. I remember the first game it would rain and people would carry umbrellas or in winter seasons it would be snowing. The feel of the first game I liked better but Shenmue 2 is also good.

My only complaint is I do not know if they will make a 3rd for the console and that part 2 did not have part 1 packaged with it. My Dreamcast does not work any more and I miss part 1.

But as far as part 2 is I enjoyed it and am trying to play a thru it a second time, but some of the events just pains me. I do like the larger cities though.
