What are your current thoughts on the Shenmue I graphics? Looking dated? as good as they ever were? Please express your opinions. My opinons are; The graphics after a few years, as with every computer, are looking slightly dated, you notice that some of the textures are quite blurry and the pedestrian character models are simple and a bit blocky, but still in my opinon the graphics of Shenmue I are still amazing, i mean the game was released in Japan in Q4 1999 for fuck sake! The graphics in Shenmue I are as good as if not better than vice city, and vice city was released in 2002! 3 years later!!! The graphics in shenmue are simply amazing for the year and the machine, there are very few dreamcast games that rival the graphics in Shenmue. MSR is one, the graphics in that game are beautiful and realistic also. Though i will stop typing now as i dont want the discussion to go into other games, lets stick with Shenmue. Masterpiece of graphical engineering in my opinon  |

i think the graphics at the time were mind blowing but now id say there average graphics now. at this time tho games now dont have the face expressions like shenmue does

True, there are games much newer than shenmue which have character faces that are so much worse than shenmue.
take a look at the pedestrians in Shenmue they are nice and detailed, the more important characters are the ones which shine though, then compare them to the charcater faces in GTA 3 or Vice city, and Shenmue looks so much better!! you will see the difference.
Fable is the only game i own which i think Rivals Shenmue's detail on character faces, i love the way your main character ages. but then fable is Such a short game its ridiculous!!

I dunno, ill just have to try Fable out and see. For alot of games they dont worry about the non important characters graphics, but in Shenmue they do, thats what i like about it also. |

well i suggest you check out fable, but its rather short, try renting it.
