If you thought this tread was about wrestling you can piss off m8. This is a thread for panda lovers (I know you wid me on this Gboy!)
Nah, this actually is a thread about wrestling due to fact that we actually have a resident expert in the TeamYu extraodinar LetsGetSweaty.
I've been out of loop since about 03 or 04 maybe so feel free to update me on the state of the WWF(E).
I have some questions: Is Vince really the exploitative bastard I've always assumed he was? What do hardcore wrestling fans think of Rock? Is he viewed as a turncoat or rather as one of few wrestlers who really made it on his own? I saw an advertisement for the Rock vs John Cena, was the match any good? And lastly, not be a mysoginist but Stephanie Mcmahon, would you?
" Move to the music, play that fucking music, move it to the music yeahh (lets get it on), move to music, play that fucking music, move to the myusic yeahh (lets get it on)"

I'll compile a must-see playlist on YouTube for you to catch up on the very best bits that you've missed. Is Vince really the exploitative bastard I've always assumed he was? He's said to be fairly ruthless, albeit with a softer side. Most reports point to the Mr McMahon character being only a slight exaggeration of the man himself. He eats, sleeps and breathes WWE and is extremely driven, suffering fools nor competitors gladly. What do hardcore wrestling fans think of Rock? Is he viewed as a turncoat or rather as one of few wrestlers who really made it on his own? Opinion's been mixed. I think a lot of people who felt bitter towards him changed their minds when he returned, especially as his feud with Cena was an inter-generational thing and The Rock was basically fighting their corner against someone they loved to hate even more. I saw an advertisement for the Rock vs John Cena, was the match any good? It wasn't the best match on the card, but it was pretty good. And lastly, not be a mysoginist but Stephanie Mcmahon, would you? Does the Pope shit in the woods?

I'll compile a must-see playlist on YouTube for you to catch up on the very best bits that you've missed. Batista's entire 6 month or so run before he left better be there! It was so good it really hit home how poor the show I was watching out of pure habit was. I still keep an eye on the happenings and hit youtube for anything that catching my eye (which currently is just Bryan, Ziggler, Ry bergback, Cesaro and Sandow).

OMG Gin watches WWF! I thought you Irish hardnuts were too manly to be watching lubed up men have dry sex in a ring (c'mon, moves like the Pedigree do border on being sexual). Not that I'm complaining though, at least I was evidently not alone. I sort of remember that Batista guy a little bit, what was so good about him? He was no Val Venus.
Personally I rated Rock for getting out when he did (still with his brains and health) and making it big in his own right, separate of WWE. I mean, look at the high percentage of oldies who keep getting pulled back, addicted to the short lived ring fame, but to their detriment. It's not something you can keep doing into your 40's. Considering Rock has already more than established his name in Hollywood, I'm kinda surprised he even bothered going back at all. I guess going out with one last big bang doesn't hurt, though, and the pay must have been astronomical.
Anyone remember Sexual Chocolate and that old granny, loool that was some other kind of messed up ish lol.
So who are you two's favourite wrestler of all time? I'm not really sure who to pick for myself.

My favourite wrestler of all time is Shawn Michaels, and has been for the past 20 years. He just "gets it" like so few have ever seemed to.
I agree with you about The Rock. He did everything he could in wrestling, and got out when the getting was good. He won.
I think the reason he came back is because he does genuinely love the business. He doesn't need WWE anymore but it's in his blood, literally - his father and grandfather were wrestlers, he grew up hanging out in the locker room with Andre the Giant. He can make a lot more money in Hollywood, but there's a certain fulfillment that I think he can only get from a wrestling crowd.

HBK? Nooooooooooooooooooo! lol, he was great in many ways and he used to be a fav of mine, but personally, I couldn't stand him after I found out about him double crossing Brett like he did (even though it is all part of the game, I guess). Don't tell me he's still wrestling? lol, another oldie still at it.
I think your right about the Rock and I think it's the same reason they all end up getting drawn back at one point or another. Its the thrill, the buzz of that live show. I guess there isn't much out there that could compare to that kind of high they get from it.

Better say this now: No spoilers, GinfnersAddict! Careful what you say in case it kills the suspense of certain matches in my upcoming mixtape playlist for mue. In fact I'll try and get that put together ASAP so as not to stifle/censor conversation for too long.

Right, here's the playlist: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL58FD3F5CA96F686B10 hours of content there, so pace yourself. But try to watch it all in sequence, as there's a lot of context being built up which would harm your enjoyment of later sections if you skipped ahead. Sadly some of the YouTube titles contain spoilers, which I always find stupid of the people uploading them, but there's nothing we can do about that now. See you in three weeks.

Noice playlist. Might use it myself. Missed a few of those years myself before getting a better online connection. I might throw some video examples at some point, but not for now. You have enough to watch. But in short before he left he stopped giving a shit, but instead of being lazy and phoning it in he started having so much fun, wearing magnificent douchebag clothes, making magnificent ott reactions, and actually delivering some of the best promos of recent times since he stopped giving a shit and went "off script" pretty often attacking Cena and the fans, which apparently got him into trouble. He didnt say anything THAT shocking, but in the climate he said them they were refreshing, and still great fun Mr Charisma himself Lance Storm talked briefly about this run of Batista's a few days agoEdit: Oh, I do have one video though! As an aside I love how it's clearly still early but within seconds you see a drunken man so stereotypically Irish slowly walking into the camera.
