Regarding YS Net's new Virtua Fighter spin-off, Sega probably still owns the license. I imagine they've just commissioned Yu's company to develop this game for them but Sega still has control over what happens to the VF franchise. Virtua Fighter's still a going concern for them, especially with the revival of the beat-em-up genre, so if they'd actually sold the rights it would be making many more headlines.

Is it just me or has @sega fallen strangely silent? They've gone from at least a few tweets per day to absolutely zilch since the day of the back-and-forth over Shenmue.

I have been thinking the same thing Sweaty. Do you think they probably blocked us or something so we cant see them and they cant see us? does that feature even EXIST on twitter lol? Im more familiar with facebook u see....

Theyre trynna save themselves from reading our tweets every day, mustv really annoyd them so they thought theyd do without twitter for a bit. Lets be sure we give em a welcome back party of tweets when...if they return lol

Yeah I just published a newly edited version with all the rubbish taken out, so now I will use that version instead to post to sega and harrass em with. Anyway, thanks guys for the nice words. Any progress since I last logged in. Whats new? any news

Meanwhile there seems to be a lot of talk at the moment about Dreamcast game Seaman being ported to the 3DS, with Nintendo trying to help third-parties release their back catalogues on the system. Obviously the first word on a lot of people's lips has been Shenmue.

Wow! omg! Seaman, thats...pfft, um Im sorry to say this but they made Seaman??? and not Shenmue?? :/ I mean REALLY. That's like having a cup of figs when you have a double whammy cheesecake on offer at a restaurant after dinner. Just one of those mehhh things il never understand.

I don't think any of us can really be surprised by now. If it had been Shenmue I'd have been checking the calendar to make sure it wasn't April 1st. Even when the opportunity's handed to them on a silver platter, they refuse to do the most obvious, sensible thing with this franchise. I don't know the extent of Nintendo's "help" on offer, but the potential here was staring Sega right in the face. It still is. And I'll be shocked if they care.

I reckon the Kickstarter might be a way to lure fan interest in but once their in we could tell them to actually wait for official setup. Well now I don't know what to do I did my best and Sega are just casually ignoring us. Hmm how to get them were it hurts?
