Ugh don't remind me. I had this lovely plan to try convince Pat to crash your little Dojo shindig. Alas, the best laid schemes o' mice an' men...
Props on the Terry Callier video too. A fine man.
Also, love is a shade of olive. A Monica Belluci. A Katrina Kaif. A Hannah Simone. A Jessica Alba. A Mona Abou Hamzeh (that her name isn't off-putting is true love). Just don't spread my (correct) answer around or we wouldn't have works of art the likes of that Callier track or this all time great.

I'm glad you liked it, babes. It's not near as good as the Seal line, but I thought it best to try for something original.

I knew you'd get the correct answer, that's my colour, more or less anyway. Props on that vid too, had me shaky my tushy it did. Shame you didn't get addict to crash on us, that would have been legendary. Have any of you actually met Pat in the flesh, I still struggle to believe he's a real guy (in the best possible way, Pat). Also, what's the Seal line?

[16/02/2013 18:59:17] Andrew .: You should ask him in his musing topic. Ask him where he falls on the colour wheel that goes from Seal to Seal's teeth

Speaking of race and colour. What is everyone's opinion on the "post racial society"? Globalisation is clearly threatening to slowly break down national and racial barriers, potentially. But is this desirable in ya'll opinions, or will it mean a future of bland homogenisation, stripping us of our cultural diversity and racial heritage? Personally, I think this breakdown is probably a necessary, I have little love for national or racial barriers, but I am surprised at how attached some people seem to be to them. I think people need to realise that at the fundamental level we are all exactly the same, regardless of race, geography, or indeed gender . And I don't believe breaking down these divisions in humanity means we have to sacrifice the special wisdoms and joys that are present in every unique culture, instead they can still flourish and be shared with everyone the world over, no?

Personally, I think this breakdown is probably a necessary, I have little love for national or racial barriers, but I am surprised at how attached some people seem to be to them. I think people need to realise that at the fundamental level we are all exactly the same, regardless of race, geography, or indeed gender . It's bound to happen, eventually. And there'll be pros and cons. I'd guess more pros than cons but I'm not wise enough to try guess the butterfly effect of these continued changes politically. I'll leave that for beeds to muse. That said, despite the whinging of so many, this is surely the greatest time ever to be a living human and the growing acceptance of diversity and the breaking of barriers sure appears to be a giant factor in that. Besides, can anything that gives us more and more mulatto butts be a bad thing overall? I'm not as optimistic in regards to this, and I'll just look at this from one angle to tell you for why. It's killing languages, and eventually I can envisage a time where only a handful are still used. That wont happen any time soon, but if the effect it's having on minor languages spreads to more widely used ones I can surely see them dying too. In Ireland, Gaeilge is on it's death bed and close to the point of no return. This is only anecdotal but the mindset of the yoofs today and recent years (and I include younger me in this bracket, shamefully) is that they only see language in practical, communicative terms. Why learn it when you can talk to others in English anyway? That resistance, along with dreadful teaching methods leads to hardly anyone being able to speak it, despite it being a compulsory subject throughout the entirety of school. I can see that state of mind spreading to other nations eventually. Why continue to speak Mongolian/Lettish/A.N. Other when you can talk to so many more with English/Mandarin etc. To spread the thoughts wider, this is also affecting the cultural behemoth that is Eurovision. Despite it's critics, I love it. I love the glimpses into the quirky differences each culture. I love hearing the variety in languages, how they sound, how their sound affects the choice of melodies etc. Sadly, year after year countries are abandoning such choices in favour of, actually to paraphrase you earlier "bland homogenisation, stripped of their cultural diversity and racial heritage". The number of forgettable English sung tunes is disheartening. Gimme more of this, please! And less of this. Despite all this, I'm not predicting the end of all cultural diversity. The combining of cultures and ideas has, and will continue to, bring us exciting and brilliant new things. I just fear it being diminished overall in time. Language is such a vital element of the variety of arts and opinions the world over that any loss can only leave us poorer. As one example - while even translated into English "Gitanjali" is a tremendous work of art, so much is lost such as the melodies, the phonetics. The free verse of the translations inhibited the marvellous lyrical qualities of the Bengali originals. I have to assume even the sentiment was diminished. I wont even get into the effect the wider culture had on the writings and what effect changes there might have on art. The only point I'm making here is that the sounds and definitions available to him in Bengali allowed him to create art that's next to, if not impossible, to write in English. It'd be a shame for differences like that to be lost. I guess in short, so far it's all been a great thing. After all, would Bobby McFerrin be the God he is without being influenced by the variety of sounds the world over we now have access to? I just fear a future Bobby McFerrin wont have the same range of sounds to influence him that current Bobby has. In conclusion, Bobby McFerrin is the pinnacle of human arts; of humanity itself. That so huh? Then, aaah, care to muse about any *ahem* siblings you may have of the female variety? Some of the early SUcKers claim to know Pat personally. However I do not know if they were being honest about it, or if the existence "Pat" is an elaborate prank by them.

Big up the Eurovision. Not that long till the next one in May! Some of the early SUcKers claim to know Pat personally. However I do not know if they were being honest about it, or if the existence "Pat" is an elaborate prank by them. Far more likely that "they" are an elaborate prank by Pat.

Thanks for the extensive reply Ginger, very interesting indeed. I tend to pretty much agree with everything you wrote (with the exception of your usage of the term "mulatto"). You make some poignant points, and I feel your melancholy over the loss of dialects. People so often forget that languages offer us more than just the ability to communicate to people of the indigenous region, but they provide us with a whole new way of viewing the world too. It will be a shame to lose that. I think we need to strike the balance of the preservation of valuable knowledge, and the breaking down and and destruction of foolish divisive knowledge. Of course, the reality is that in the march of "progress" some valuable knowledge worthy of protection will be swept aside too That Bobby Mcferrin vid is well great. Keep your pants on, Sweaty. Don't have any, I wouldn't mind donning a few cosmetic applications for you though. You'd have to squint real hard, but we could make this work. And Pat, get in here and prove your existence (or the existence of people that "know" you)! And no, Gary Numan ticket stubs don't count as satisfactory proof.

So I was at a toilet yesterday, as you do. I'll withhold the details of what I was doing but when I was done I washed my hands, as you do. While I was drying my hands, a guy came into the toilet scatting (Pat, fuck off. Not what you think despite the unfortunate phrasing) and it was Bobby himself. True story! No doubt you've wondered if Grammy winners still urinate. I can confirm yes, they do. Don't tell him that Hmmmmm Alright. His absence speaks volumes.

WHAT... did you learn at school today? That's WHAT the teachers used to say. But they don't know, don't understand, do they? WHY... do they always give advice? Saying JUST be nice, always think twice. But it's been a long time since they had a teenage life.
We were robbed that year.

I keep hoping one year Paul and Barry Chuckle enter, and their song is just them, standing there. No backing track. No dancers. Just them. They start to sing. Eu-eu-eurovision. Eu-eurovision. Eu-eu-eurovision. Followed by an a capella rendition of the musical melody from their tv show theme before returning to the lyrics. Eu-eu-eurovision... Just that for 3 minutes. Maybe one year Also: What a story

Abraham Lincoln was so easily assassinated not because of his lack of security detail... but for the fact that his security detail, John Parker, lacked any ability to perform detailed security. He essentially had Paul Blart: Mall Cop protecting him which resulted in a very easy kill-shot from John Wilkes Booth. John Parker was accompanying Lincoln to the event but snuck away during the intermission to have a drink at the local pub across the street. He had more than a drink at the Star Saloon, otherwise he would have been able to protect Lincoln or fire back at Booth. He was charged with failing to protect the president but the charges were dismissed without recorded reason. I don't know why I am typing this, Lincoln was a no-good nigger lover who died for loving niggers. I don't need to be burying his security detail for his stupid actions.

Man that was a disappointing post from you Pecsh. One because it seems to be a total non-sequitur, I guess it could be a reply to something on a previous page (I've not looked) but that was like years ago and so really deserves a quote if so. And two, because of the "nigger lover" shit. I know your not racist Joe, but we really don't need that shit here, and ESPECIALLY not in the mue thread. C'mon bro, if you haven't noticed this thread is basically a shrine dedicated to black people, so I won't tolerate that nonsense.
