I have all 3 but Windows media is my favourite, its easy to use and runs fast. quicktime is a slow bitch. Real player is good but a bit slow at loading up.

OK right
Media Player=Fast and Reliable Quick Time=Uses loads of ram and is very slow but runs almost anything. Realplayer=Used to be good but can be unreliable and slow.

I agree with Pat and Stef.
I experimented with WINAMP, but I still prefer WMP, and those groovy visualisations and easy interface, and it's quick too. Real Player is so damn slow and full of adverts.

For videos I use media player normally (one of the few good Microsoft products), I use RealTime for real type movies (that programs bad for fucking up your system), and quicktime for some internet media. For music I use Winamp 2.8 (I hate Winamps 3.0 and up, since they are too damn slow, Winamp 2.8 has few features, but is perfect to just play music. ) To rip music and transfer to my mp3 player I use Creative PlayCenter 3, and I edit music with Cool Edit 2.0

I use,
Windows Media Player Winamp Quicktime
I use Winamp the most and then I use Windows Media Player to watch videos that are in .avi format since Winamp is crap at playing videos and I hardly ever use Quicktime but its always handy to have for those few Sega TV ads I have that are in Quicktime format.

Windows media is decent for just movie playback, its shit for everything else. It rips to wma format, it saves playlists in its own format, it is fairly buggy, I don't really like it.
Do not install realplayer, it has so much spyware its sick. I use RealAlternative for online Real files, and Jetaudio for offline real files. I also use quicktime alternative.
Winamps good, I just don't particularly like the new ones cus they're too slow. 2.8 is a great one for simple audio playback.
