I drive my parents car. I'd get my own, but it would got $3500 a year for insurance, plus a lot for gas (which is really expensive in Canada), reapairs, and of course the car itself. Considring last year I made about $7000, this would cost me nearly everything I earn. Not worth it. Instead I pay $1000 to drive my parents car, although i can't have it all the time

couldent you get a very small car insured for less than $3500? it only costs me £400 to be insured on my small car. not if its my name. Size dont matter. For a piece of shit, with no personal colision, its over $3000, just in case you hit someone else and your insurance has to pay them. I only pay about the equivilant of 400 pounds to be a secondary driver. But I coulidnt get my own car, because if you have 3 cars, and 3 licensed drivers, each person must be a primary drivers. They fill in the loophole of just getting it put in your parents name this way. Plus private insurance sucks, last year insurance costs skyrocketed, and yet insurance companies in Ontario (my province) made record profits. Public (government) insurance is somewhat cheaper, but the fucking government sold it. Then theres the gas, its not far from hitting the $1.00 per litre mark. United States had record gas prices, which was the equivilant of $0.70 /litre Canadian, they're complaining, when it was $0.95 here. Plus my city is isolated from any other decent sized city, so our prices are higher than most of Canada. Basically I could afford to drive, but I'd have no money left over
