What I mean by this is that people and objects just sort of appear all of a sudden. I think for as many large cities as there will be in the next game that there should be disks. I am not a computer programer but I would think with more room on the disks since it will only be one large city per disk that the apperaring/disappearing would not happen as bad. To me that would make a better game.
Now I am not sure if you would need to go back to an old city or not and if events would change that were hidden on the original disk or not, but that sounds to me like better game play than what it is now. Now some people may argue that having multiple disks like FF7 would take you out of the game, but it is not like you would changing a disk for a very long time and have that experience per disk be better. I am also speaking for the XBOX console or what ever next generation console that will come out and be used.

Yea, all the dissapearing would make the game better, but you cant get much better than what Shenmue has to offer, but its always nice to think of ways to make the game better.

Yes i agree with you there, i think that they should use as many discs as they need to make the game better for the game players, for example; they should not try and cram everything in on one disc, the textures in the game should be made as good as possible and the same with the detail of the characters.
BUT, The Fading in/out of the people in the game has nothing to do with the Disc space, the only way to get round that is improving the programming of the game engine and Pure processing power eliminates that problem, so if it were made on Xbox 2 then that problem would be completly eliminated.
