I can remember , and i havent played the game, especially that bit of it, in years
Shenmue I i have played much more, i prefer the first game for some reason

Same.
First game builds up nicely and feels really homey, the second hits the ground running and really just knocks you on your arse early on... kind of like if some real revenge crazed teenager ran off to Hong Kong.
Shit, that's kind of clever.

^ Yeh dont get me wrong , Mue 2 is awesome, especially the kowloon bit, but Mue 1 is just my favourite, for all the reasons you mentioned and probably for nostalgia reasons too
I'm gonna definatly pick up Mue 2 again soon, its been too long
