Jewel Quest III, which is pretty frustrating on a BlackBerry touchpad.

Started the original Mass Effect again. Gonna work my way through all three in a row Word of advice, put ME 1 on easy so that you can blast through it just for the story. The combat in the first game is unbelievably shit and irritating. I had a sort of like hate relationship with the game, I liked the atmosphere and characters but I just found the combat really irritating. Though, due to me rushing through it, I wasn't able to save a character I liked due to not having a high enough level in something or rather just made me dislike the bloody game even more. The second game is a significant imporvement in all aspects, though (aside from replacing the lift scenes with loading screens, that was a shame). I've yet to get ME3, but plan to at some point.

I haven't played any of the Mass Effect games yet (got the original in my "get around to it" pile), but there's a bit of justified outrage at the moment over the new one having withheld content on the disk available for additional purchase on the day of release. In other words, Bioware deliberately held back something that could have been in the game from the start, just to fleece customers out of an extra "DLC" cost to unlock it. Pretty shameless.

Yeah I read that too, it does sound like a piss take. Though, Bioware have come out saying that the DLC that was already on the disk is only very little (a character model) and that the main bulk of the DLC was all developed while the game was in the certification process. Though, it does smell a bit fishy to me.

This whole "DLC already on disc" is ridiculous, i dont mind paying for some extra stuff that you download, but to have to pay extra for something which is already on the original game disc, well thats just bullshit and i would refuse to do it!
I was also pissed off when i bought the "RE5 Gold Edition" pre-owned because i wanted the extra content, only to find out it was not on a second disc but instead downloadable with a code, which can only be used once! will never make that mistake again

"Want free extra content? Buy the game new." Can't really complain about that, in all fairness, even though I like a pre-owned bargain as much as anyone.

Yeh but the retarded thing is i already owned RE5 and bought Gold off ebay just for the content! wish i'd just downloaded it in the first place (which i ended up doing) but i thought the extra content would come on a second disc like it did with Fallout 3 & Fable 2 "game of the year" editions. I will have to be more careful in future

That's one thing, but the stunt Capcom pulled with Mercenaries 3DS was just out of order in my opinion, and clearly just an attempt to minimize pre-owned sales.

Capcom's also facing criticism for something similar to Bioware, with "DLC" for Street Fighter x Tekken stored on the disc. Check out their laughable excuse here.

That excuse is just bullshit clever marketing talk
if the content is already on the fucking disc you paid for then you should have access to it from the word go. FUCK CAPCOM!
I do like them and their games but they have always been money grabbers, with all their stupid "Super" "Alpha" blah blah blah special editions of their games, conning fans into buying slightly upgraded versions of the same game

Indeed, I've played it before and it's weird how a lot what I remember as my original opinions have now changed. My memories told me that the weapons/armour/mods etc were good, now I find them tedious as fuck having to delete a whole bunch of shit everytime I reach my item limit. Speaking of tedious, and the elevators, I remember the elevators and the mako to be super annoying and being glad they were gone. Now I think they're both slight positives that just needed fine tuning. And Ashley... at first I thought she was great (hot and you get to fuck her), now I find her conservative views, sometimes bordering on racism, somewhat offputting. But on the whole I probably prefer the story and characters of 1 to 2.

There's a fun (and extremely cheap) indie game called DLC Quest that I've just played through, which takes the mickey out of games that require DLC for things that should come as standard. It's a bit of a chore to install, but worth it for some lolz.
