Turns out one of the admins of the Shenmue 500k facebook page is doing the same course as me at my uni, sound guy. Small world eh, though I guess considering the course I'm doing is Japanese it's not quite as surprising to meet a kindred spirit who is learning Japanese for the soul purpose of being able to have a fluent conversation with Yu Suzuki before being laid to rest. Well, I don't know that that is his reason, but it damn sure is mine.

Haha, I don't doubt it for a second. Which admin? PM me if you don't want to post his name publicly.
Edit - Looking at the list of admins and what little I know about some of them, I'm going to take a guess: Are his initials JT?

haha yeah, how'd you work that out?
Also what's with the thuderclap thing? It's gone up by like 100 people in like 1 day. Maybe those false rumour are good for something?

He's British and I remember him saying he was studying Japanese. Not as active in the group as he used to be, you'll have to steer him back onto the path of the righteous, mue.

As for Thunderclap it's getting some extra publicity from one of Adam K's latest videos, and it's been linked discreetly on the Dojo's front page for what that's worth (a proper post about it is also promised).

Ah that's good, It's probably that guy's vid, as I can't see that link on the dojo front page grabbing a whole many peoples attention lol, I hope they do do a proper post on it. Regardless though, I think it'll be a good turnout this month.
For real, I haven't had the chance to have a proper chat with him yet. I don't blame him though with the avalanche of work we have to deal with on our course though.

Twitter has an odd sense of humour:

Big up to that comedian who did that campaign vid. What a dude. Whose idea was that?

His own, as far as I know. He's joined the Tweetathon a couple of times in the past. He also answered a callout from the guys who made that Shenmue II documentary, as they were looking for other people to appear in the follow-up, and he was going to be in Japan anyway. So we might see him in that as well, when it surfaces.

What Shenmue 2 documentary is this then? I must have missed this.

The tweetathon has reached yet another benchmark moment. Karim Metwaly has supported our cause! I didn't actually know who he was before hand, but it means a lot to me that such an impeccable looking male is on board with us. I have also now become addicted to his Vlogs. As far as Vlogs go they are pretty good.

Sweaty, I'm looking forward to you bringing that old graph back out after this tweetathon.

I stopped doing that a couple of months ago when I discovered Twitter was omitting tweets in its search results. The only reliable figures going forward are those on Thunderclap, and this month has broken those records already.

And I think it's safe to say that that record has been broken by some margin! This tweetahon is bound to be huge compared to previous efforts. It must be gratifying to see that all the effort you have put into this has not been wasted.

It's been a far bigger team effort than usual this month. With so much excitement surrounding the Sony situation, people who aren't usually keen to lift a finger or see through on their promises have been extraordinarily helpful. And those who can always be relied upon to pull their weight have been outdoing themselves. Everyone seems to realise that there's a golden opportunity here not to be missed, and that the Tweetathon is the strongest tool at the entire community's disposal.
As great as that is to see, though, I'm still a bag of nerves over implementing the campaign changes over the coming days. The best time to make these changes was several months ago, and now the timing is a little awkward but it won't get any better until biting the bullet. I just hope it goes smoothly and we can look back on it as a step forward and not a stumble backwards.

It was the number one trending campaign on Thunderclap today. If you're still awake you've got another few hours to sign up if you want to be part of that, otherwise just look at the numbers: TeamYu.net/Dec3rd

Good to see not much momentum has been lost since last month, doubly so considering we changed the hashtag. It's a big step up from where we were a couple months ago.
