The English in my mind should be more passionate about football than Canada is with hockey. When the Boston Bruins beat the Vancouver Canucks for the Stanley cup this last year Vancouver was flooded with riots that came with looting, fires, etc. I would expect almost the same thing if England made it to the final round and lost to say.... the US.

^ To be fair, much of England does love football, but thankfully you get more refined characters here on Shenmue UK, a couple of guys, errr sorry I meant one who engages in dogging, and Beedle may be about, but the main thing is they don't like Football....

That kind of makes me happy they don't live up to that stereotype.

I have no interest in Football, not many here do, hence the lack of footy threads in this sports forum lol am i right in thinking that not everyone in the U.S loves NFL?

You would be very right, but I do. The only sport I don't really follow is Major League Soccer actually, even then I watch Seattles team, play on TV sometimes. I pretty much watch every NFL game and then watch the reviews if it was a game I didn't get in TV.
I don't follow Hockey all season except my favorite teams too closely, might catch it on TV every now and then. Same for Major League Baseball and the NBA. But I always watch the playoffs for each.
And my city has a minor league baseball team and minor league hockey team, I like going to those games sometimes. We have a professional Arena Football team (its sort of the league right under the NFL) and they have won the championship a few times, those games are fun to go to. And Gonzaga Universitys basketball team is in the top 25 most seasons for a little while, and they usually win there conference and have got in the playoffs the last 12-14 years every year or so. Those games I like going to if there are tickets.
Then you have Eastern Washington University which won there whole divisions championship the year before this season in football.
So you could say I grew up around sports which maybe one reason I follow most of them.

Tennis yeah, I catch it on TV when a big event is on, and golf.
And I am a big fan of NASCAR, and always watch the Indy 500. We have 2 race tracks in this area, its mostly only drivers from around this area and other Western states and western Canadian drivers come down here sometimes too. But one of the NASCAR circuits came here this summer and I went. Always go to a few races every summer.

Fucking NASCAR.
Only Americans could turn driving in a circle into a sport. Those bastards would love Milton Keynes.

There are two tracks they race at every year that are road tracks though.
Geoff, we didn't get along back in the day, his favorite driver was my least favorite one and my favorite was his least favorite.
I see nothing wrong with simulating 400-500 miles of driving in a circle. It works just as well as any road track. That is a piss poor argument everyone uses to insult it.
