The First Shenmue game is spread across 3 GD-Roms, which was your favourite and why?
My Favourite Disc has got to be the final Disc, the fights suddenly become much more frequant, the job is fun, the 70 man battle, motocycle bit etc etc i could go on and on, the third disc just has so many great moments ;D

I never paid enough attention to whatever disc I was on to choose. Everything from Shenmue I to II and beyond I view as one.

Fair enough
the funny thing is disc 3 in Shenmue 2 is by far the most action packed and best disc also (just like in the first one)
but i see your point, it is a continuous story so is easy to forget about the discs

Since my Xbox 360 broke recently (2nd one to Red Ring on me) i have been playing Shenmue, my last file i had been playing just happend to be on disc 3 just as the action is heating up, so i re-iliterate that disc 3 is indeed the most of awsome of Shenmue 1.
Same with Shenmue 2, though with the Xbox version its all on 1 disc so ill just say Kowloon is the best part of that game

My favorite disc is 3, no doubt. Can't beat the 70 Man Battle.

Fun thought, the three disks are like the three act structure of a film or book.
Disc one sets everything up, it gives the scenario, introduces the characters and settings, etc.
Disc two gives a disequilibrium of sorts by introducing the Mad Angels, it adds more to the story events seen in disc one, and sets up a further motive for the protagonist (getting to Hong Kong).
Disc three is the climax, and the requilibrium with the harbour now safe, but since it is a multi-part story this chapter is closed by the main narrative has yet to be finished.
Shenmue II follows this structure too, but adds the curve ball that is disk four acting as a teaser and an epilogue.
Interestingly enough there are a lot of comparisons to be made between Shenmue and Japanese dramas, and Shenmue II to Hong Kong action films, and the overall story of both games to a Samurai epic.

yes, that is why i try to ignore the shenmue related boards as much as possible usually. I have a dreamcast, and Shenmue, but the system constantly freezes, and the discs are in absolutely mint condition.

Likely the dreamcast, the unreliable lumps of shit. Did you try the open it and bend the prongs thing? Think thats just for resetting but meh, worth a try
