Well your right my friend, any news is better than none, im semi happy with the news, i really wanted the news to be S3, but thats not the case, so hopefully this SO can lead to a soon to be S3  |

Hmm... whether if the game sells "well" or not... Sega will still receive totally 25 millions us dollars from Shanghai T2 for the licence/administration , within 3 years, according to the contract. Which by now, they have already received 5 million dollars from T2. So, 20 millions us dollars will come to Sega's hands...within 3 years. So, shenmue-online performance, "IF" it's not getting popular, seems like affecting T2 much more than Sega (in financial viewpoint , not image). ^___^ If the development resource is from JC Entertainment and the money is from Shanghai T2. Sega is smart on this one. Of course, if it sells well, Shenmue would be popular and everyone talking about Kung Fu Great... and T2 will has another groundbreaking experience to be selected by Harvard again for research? Chinese Government just published a new rule to censor imported games in china. Every imported online games have to be examined by "some government department (news department? ". Since May-2004, there have been over one hundred of game - need to be examined for permission from chinese government to let them "import" the games into china market. NONE of them has been permitted yet. Because of the new (censor?)examination system, lots of "rules" in the T2 contract to Sega, including no japanese clothes, no kimono , no japanese names....and I also wonder if there is any possibly corruption problem that T2 needs to deal with. I guess it will turn out alright and get permitted I still think Sega has limited choice, she needs money ! I am generally happy to have shenmue news from Sega. We have been waiting for too long........... long........ |
